==Restaurant==
Mikla opened in October 2005. The initial idea was to create a refined but contemporary “Istanbullu” Restaurant. Both the menu and the general feel of the restaurant reflect the Turkish-Scandinavian background of Mehmet Gürs, the Chef-Owner who was among the first to pioneer the contemporary restaurant scene in Istanbul when he moved to Istanbul in 1996.〔http://www.miklarestaurant.com/files/presspdf/59244-finedining.pdf〕〔http://www.miklarestaurant.com/files/presspdf/52109-thewallstreetjournal.pdf〕 "With its outstanding food, breathtaking view, proper service and inspiring music, Mikla continues to enjoy raving local and international reviews.〔http://www.miklarestaurant.com/files/presspdf/72090-urban2.pdf〕
The name of the restaurant is derived from "Miklagard", the Old Norse name for Istanbul, meaning "the Great Town".〔
Reservations are recommended. Mikla is closed on Sundays.〔
